I went to my nurse practitioner today to talk about the "spell" I had Friday. I went into detail about the circumstances and she asked questions. In her judgment it was a case of it was very hot outside and I stood up too fast. As for why it took me an hour to recover, she didn't have a good answer for that, but still didn't feel that there was anything very serious going on.
I'm going to quit worrying about it now.
