Scenes From a Road Trip (s)

About a week or nine days ago, Kate and I made a flying trip to Hilton Head so I could attend a Royal Dunes timeshare board meeting. The meeting was uneventful, although perfectly successful, as was the trip. We got a few interesting photos though. Here is a selection of them:

 Earl, Alice and Waylon sneaked into the luggage. They weren't able to do that this time, so they're still at home.

 In Spartanburg, SC, a couple of Canadian geese set up house-keeping in a Costco parking lot.

 Dad stood guard.

The Costco folk set up pylons and gave  them water. I suspect they made out OK.

We got back home on Monday, 4 May. We left again on Monday, 11 May, heading to a conference in Providence, R. I. More on that another time. We spent most of Monday driving though Ohio.......it's a pretty big state. We stayed in Twinsburg, OH, but we saw no twins.....not even one set. We did see a fire truck. Most of today, Tuesday, was spent driving through western New York, and it was just lovely. 

 We visited the Lucille Ball Memorial Park in Celoron, NY, the birthplace of Lucille Ball.

 Here's a close-up of a really ugly bronze of her; it looks nothing like her. There is a notice posted nearby telling you where you can make donations to support a new bronze of her.

 It's a pretty little park.

 We then drove to nearby Jamestown, NY, where Kate visited the museum.

During our afternoon drive over back roads to Corning, NY, home of the ware, we passed several buggies like this. They were driven either by women dressed in black, or men dressed in straw hats and bushy beards.
